8. HEIDELBERGCEMENT PLANS INVESTMENT OF $100M IN GEORGIA DURING NEXT 5 YEARS

Within Germany-Georgia business-forum, held recently in Berlin, Georgian Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development signed an agreement with HeidelbergCement.
As the company declared, it plans to invest $100 million in Georgia during next 5 years. Volume of investments, made by HeidelbergCement since 2006 (i.e. after its start of operation in Georgia), exceeds $270 million.
In particular, the company is going to expand production on its coal quarry in Tkibuli (Imereti region), as well as considers development of construction materials’ production.
Besides, HeidelbergCement plans development of its existing facilities, including upgrade of Kaspi cement plant (Shida Kartli region), and construction of new one in Poti (Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti region).
